Hair Confidant

My journey to happier and confident version of myself

  • I first noticed my hair thinning in around 2021. At first, I tried to ignore it. After hearing that I was losing hair from several close friends, I started to develop insecurity and I had the tendency of ignoring and getting angry and disappointed with my look.

My family began to convince me to get a transplant. At first, I had no idea if hair transplant was a “thing”. After doing some research, I began to warm to the idea of having a transplant. I searched clinics in Seattle and I found that the procedure will cost me around $20,000.

Finally, I was ready to spend that much money for a hair transplant. I shared my plan to my friend, Aydin who was born and raised in Turkiye. Aydin mentioned that Turkiye was the leading country in cosmetic procedures, especially in hair transplant. After calculating the expenses and the exchange rates, the shocking reality hit me that this procedure will cost me around $2,000 plus accommodation and flight ticket.

When I did my search about medical procedures in Turkiye, I was confident that I could trust the medical centers and doctors in Turkiye. But I had very serious concerns:

    • Finding the right clinic
    • Where to stay
    • Translation
    • Payment
    • Care After Surgery
    • Dealing with Local People

After raising my concerns to Aydin, he suggested that he could help me with finding the right clinic and he could talk to the clinic to get me best price and best care as possible. After hearing his suggestions, my confidence went up. A couple days later, Aydin told me that He would like to travel with me to make sure everything will be done at best and we could do some travelling together in Turkiye and he could visit his family as well. This was the best news at that time.

We searched all the possible clinics and Aydin emailed them on behalf of me. He secured a spot for me at the best clinic plus arranged an Airbnb in Sultanahmet – center of the touristic places.

My final comment was that I was extremely happy with my transplant, after care and the whole trip in Turkiye.

Now, I am travelling to Istanbul to get a second hair transplant with the same clinic.
